![]() I’m actually surprised donut shops haven’t tried to offer an ice cream donut sandwich since it is a lot easier for a donut shop to buy ice cream rather than have an ice cream shop try to make a good donut. We didn’t quite understand the popularity of this place and the long lines since none of us liked the donut. I’d return for the ice cream if there wasn’t such a long line but I wouldn’t get the Milky Bun again. Overall, we had mixed feelings about this place. We enjoyed our ice creams but did not like the donuts.Ĭookie Butter ice cream, Mini Chocolate Chips topping, Glazed Donut ![]() There were four of us in our group and everyone had the same feeling about the donut. Jasmine Milk Tea ice cream, Mochi topping, Glazed Donut The ice cream donut is then sealed before it is presented to you. You begin the game with two friends at a table that can seat up to five, which after an hour or so of play will be full. What really seals the deal with Knights of Pen & Paper, however, is the battle system. By the time the developers themselves turn up as kind of clumsy arch-nemeses and you're bustin' ghouls on behalf of a lazy Mill Burray, you can't help but be swept along with a smile. There are so many little nods here, particularly to the 16-bit era of RPGs, but the game it's most reminiscent of in terms of atmosphere is Earthbound. The Dungeon Master and friends are sometimes talking 'in character' and sometimes like buddies playing a game. This is a game that's not only beautifully written but has a great gimmick to play with and does so. There are many types of quest, all of which are bookended in full D&D mode by our narrator, the Dungeon Master. Now seems as good a time as any to mention that Knights of Pen & Paper includes in-app purchases for more of its dollars, but you'll honestly never need them - every fight, more or less, rewards you with currency, and every quest yields even more. It costs in-game dollars to travel anywhere, which limits your initial movement, but before very long you'll have a truckload. Travelling from place to place changes the backdrop as well as the quests available, and is controlled through a simple map overlay. The more you fight, the bigger the XP bonus. Many battles are pre-set, but specific missions let you choose how many monsters to fight at once, up to a maximum of seven. The table is a constant on-screen presence in Knights of Pen & Paper, and the fantasy world the friends are playing through is represented by everything outside of it: a series of beautiful pixel-art backdrops, all of them crammed with tiny details and movement. The concept is that a group of friends are playing an old-school pen-and-paper RPG, like Dungeons & Dragons, and they along with the Dungeon Master make up the centrepiece of the screen - the latter facing the player from the other side of the table, while the friends sit with their backs to you. It turns out to be a rare treasure, a high-concept hybrid role-playing game that manages to pack an epic and funny quest into the most unusual of structures. This came out last summer, but I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of it until a festive App Store sale and snazzy icon tempted a punt. ![]() Read more about what it takes to serve this great nation as an Army Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Collector. Most mini projectors allow you to connect to your device via USB or HDMI. Some projectors output their own audio through built-in speakers and others have an output to plug in external speakers. Some projectors’ internal batteries will charge themselves while your phone is plugged into its charger. However, it’s important to consider the life of your smartphone’s battery. Most mini projectors have a built-in battery and are “plug-and-play,” meaning you can plug them into your device via USB and they draw power from the device rather than requiring an external power supply. Some mini projectors have Wi-Fi capability, so you can project from your smartphone without having to plug in any cables. The more lumens, the better your projector will perform in extreme lighting conditions, such as outdoors on a sunny day. Most mini projectors are about 200-500 lumens. Any widescreen projector is also capable of viewing in 4:3, it just looks a little different because you’ll see black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. When widescreen cameras and technology became available, the most common aspect ratio became 16:9. Originally, the broadcast standard was a square aspect ratio of 4:3, also known as 1:1. The aspect ratio is the ratio of the width to height of the frame. Because their output resolution eventually gets resized onto the projector screen, projector resolutions are slightly different from broadcast resolutions, the minimum being XGA at 1024 x 768 and the maximum being 4K at 4096 x 2160. ![]() With an LCD projector, the principle is the same the more pixels you have, the higher the resolution. 4K video is 3840 x 2160 and is also known as Ultra HD. High-definition video, one of today’s most common broadcast standards, is either 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080. Video resolution is measured by how many pixels of color fit on the screen to create the image and is generally depicted as the height and width of the screen. With a DLP projector, the more mirrors that are used to project the image, the higher the resolution (and the better quality the image). When it comes to mini projectors for smartphones, tablets and computers, DLP projectors typically allow more light to pass through, resulting in a brighter and higher-quality image. DLP technology is favored by many users for its environmental efficiency, clear images and low maintenance. ![]() The reflection then hits the lens, resulting in an image.
